Frequently Asked Questions
A space to explore what it is like to work together, what to expect from ceremony design, and how Ritual Ceremonies supports life’s most meaningful passages.
What is a personalized ceremony?
A personalized ceremony is written and designed specifically for the people, relationships, values, and meaning at the center of the occasion.
Rather than following a fixed script or traditional format, the ceremony is thoughtfully developed to reflect what matters most.
Each ceremony is created through conversation, collaboration, and thoughtful design so it feels authentic, grounded, and deeply personal.
What types of ceremonies do you offer?
Ritual Ceremonies supports a wide range of life’s transitions, including weddings and commitment ceremonies, celebration of life ceremonies, rites of passage, birth and naming ceremonies, release and reclamation ceremonies, companion animal ceremonies, and custom ceremonies created for unique experiences.
If the moment carries meaning, it can be marked with ceremony.
Do you offer ceremonies for pets or beloved animals?
Yes.
Companion animal ceremonies are available to honor the bond shared with a beloved pet, especially during end-of-life, remembrance, or farewell.
These ceremonies are gentle, personal, and created with the same care and presence as any other meaningful life passage.
How does the process work?
Every ceremony begins with a complimentary consultation.
If we move forward together, we develop the ceremony through conversation, collaboration, and thoughtful refinement until it feels complete.
On the day itself, I guide the ceremony with presence and care so you can simply experience the moment.
Do we need to know exactly what we want before reaching out?
Not at all.
Many people reach out with only a sense that something important is changing.
Part of my role is helping discover what that ceremony wants to become.
Do you follow specific religious traditions?
No.
Ceremonies may be spiritual, secular, interfaith, rooted in tradition, or entirely personal.
Every belief system—and the absence of one—is welcomed and respected.
Can we include rituals or symbolic elements?
Absolutely.
Symbolic elements often become some of the most meaningful parts of a ceremony.
Together, we explore what feels authentic, whether that includes handfasting, candle lighting, shared vows, storytelling, remembrance rituals, or something created entirely for you.
Do you officiate legal weddings?
Yes.
When legal officiation is required, I complete the ceremony and all required marriage documentation in accordance with state requirements.
Will we receive a copy of our ceremony?
Yes.
After your ceremony, you will receive a written keepsake of the ceremony created specifically for you.
Many clients treasure this as a lasting reminder of the experience.
What makes Ritual Ceremonies different?
Many officiants perform ceremonies.
My work begins much earlier.
Together, we create the ceremony itself—not simply the words spoken on the day.
Every element is thoughtfully designed to reflect the people, values, and meaning at the heart of the occasion.
How far in advance should we book?
For weddings, three to six months is generally recommended.
Other ceremonies may be scheduled with much greater flexibility depending on availability.
If your timeline is shorter, you are always welcome to reach out.
Do you travel?
Yes.
Travel within approximately forty miles of the Dallas–Fort Worth area is included.
Destination ceremonies and extended travel are happily discussed during consultation.
Can ceremonies be simple?
Absolutely.
Meaning does not depend on size.
Some of the most powerful ceremonies are also the quietest.
Do you offer reduced-fee ceremonies?
Yes.
A limited number of reduced-fee ceremonies are available each season for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship.
Accessibility is important, and I welcome those conversations with openness and respect.
How do we begin?
We begin with a conversation.
A complimentary consultation offers space to explore your questions, your hopes for the ceremony, and whether working together feels aligned.
